HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER SCHOOL 2020

Algebra I

The five-week Algebra I Review/Remediation classes will assist students in achieving competency by re-teaching basic Algebra I concepts and providing practice in the application of those concepts. This class is the equivalent of a regular high school year course, will count toward high school credits, and will affect the high school GPA.

DATES: June 22 - July 24, 2020, Monday through Friday
TIME: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.    
COST: $475 for the five-week courses
$200 due upon registration (includes non-refundable $50 cancellation fee)
Balance due by the first day of class

ELIGIBILITY:
Algebra I class is offered for students who need to repeat Algebra I.  Students with a previous grade of D or F will have their lower grade replaced by the higher.  Students who are repeating the class for review, who earned a C- or higher previously, will not have their grade changed. Students may not take Algebra I for the first time in summer school.

 

High School Geometry

The Geometry course is the equivalent of the regular high school year course and is offered for high school credit and will count toward the high school GPA.

COST: $475 for the five-week courses

ELIGIBILITY:
Geometry class is offered for students who need to repeat the class or who want to advance a year. Students repeating the class to replace a D or F will have their lower grade replaced by the higher. Students wanting to advance a year need to have completed Algebra I with an A or B and be recommended by their current math teacher. Students completing Geometry in summer school will advance either to Honors Algebra II or Standard Algebra II next school year.  
 

High School World History

The World History course is the equivalent of the regular high school year course and is offered for high school credit and will count toward the high school GPA.

DATES: June 8 - July 10, 2020, Monday through Friday

TIME: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (online between June 8 to 19)
COST: $475 for the five-week courses
$200 due upon registration (includes non-refundable $50 cancellation fee)
Balance due by the first day of class

Beginning Band Summer School

This is for students who do not yet play a band instrument. We will start you at the very beginning -- you'll get to see and try all the instruments and then choose the one you would like to learn.  No experience necessary...if you have played the piano or guitar that is good, but not necessary at all.

In just 5 weeks of Summer School we cover 1 year of band... so you'll be able to start in the Advanced Band this coming year! During our 5 weeks have fun summer evening activities... Swim parties, Drive-in movies, etc. all voluntary.  If the amusement parks open up, we will take a field trip and perform at Magic Mountain. 
 

DATES: June 22 - July 17, 2020, Monday - Friday  (5 weeks)
TIMES: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  
COST: $485
$200 due upon registration (includes non-refundable $50 cancellation fee)
Balance due by the first day of class

ELIGIBILITY
High School Beginning Band is for middle school and high school students. No experience is necessary.
         

Band Camp

This is a super fun summer activity for students who have had at least one year of band.  You will improve tremendously during summer band camp and most students move to a much higher band.  Also, during our 4 weeks we have fun summer evening activities... Swim parties, Drive-in movies, etc. all voluntary.  If the amusement parks open up, we will take a field trip and perform at Magic Mountain. 

DATES: June 22 - July 10, 2020, Monday - Friday (4 weeks)
TIMES: 1:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.  (3 hours/day)
COST: $350
$200 due upon registration (includes non-refundable $50 cancellation fee)
Balance due by the first day of class

ELIGIBILITY
Band Camp is for students who have completed beginning band or higher.

 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Registration closes June 5, 2020.
Acceptance is contingent upon academic need and made on a first-come, first-served basis.
A maximum of 3 absences is allowable for credit to be received.
If a parent drops the class on or before May 21 a full refund except for the $50 cancellation fee will be given.
If a parent drops the class after May 22 the $200 registration amount is non-refundable. If a parent drops the class on or after June 1, the full $475 is non-refundable. If the school cancels the class, full refunds will be given.
*A minimum of 10 must be signed up for each class to be offered.
